Leidos Awarded $51 Million Contract for National Healthcare Security Network Modernization
RESTON, Va., Sept. 3, 2024 – Leidos, a Fortune® 500 innovation company, has been awarded the Nationwide Healthcare Security Network (NHSN) Construction, Maintenance, Support, and Modernization contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. The contract, with a total value of $51 million over five years, will see Leidos utilizing its expertise in data management and project software to enhance the NHSN platform.

Leidos will focus on continuing to enhance and modernize the NHSN software, facilitating electronic messaging, tailored prevention strategies, and monitoring healthcare system capacity. The platform plays a key role in tracking vaccination rates, monitoring blood safety, and combating threats like COVID-19 and antimicrobial-resistant infections.
The NHSN is utilized by virtually all U.S. hospitals, nursing homes, dialysis facilities, and surgical centers. This contract will further Leidos’ support in providing essential data to assess the effectiveness of prevention efforts in healthcare facilities across the country.
