BEIJING, Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — On October 14-15, Jungar Banner in Inner Mongolia in China hosted the “International Dialogue: Engaging with the People, Sharing China’s Stories.” The dialogue focused on translating local development successes into compelling global narratives, exploring how grassroots initiatives can help shape an authentic and comprehensive international perception of China.
The event was jointly hosted by the Center for Europe and Africa (China Today) of China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Tsinghua University-Xinhua Institute of International Communications, among others. It was co-organized by the Publicity Department of the Jungar Banner Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research of the Yellow River Conservancy Commission. The dialogue brought together a diverse group of participants, including foreign diplomats, international communication experts, and youth representatives from China and abroad.
Attendees agreed that China’s counties serve as dynamic showcases of the nation. They emphasized the need for collaborative content creation and joint talent development to forge unique international communication brands at the county level. In a video address, former UN Under-Secretary-General Erik Solheim lauded China’s green transition, noting that Inner Mongolia’s efforts offer important insights for the rest of the world.
During the dialogue, representatives from Jungar Banner, Zhejiang’s Yunhe, Guizhou’s Rongjiang (home of the “Cun Chao” or Village Super League), and Jiangsu’s Taicang, showcased their pioneering work in ecological governance, cultural outreach, developing sports as intellectual property (IP), and unique local industries. The event also saw the launch of the 2025 Development Report on the International Communication of Chinese Counties and recognized a series of outstanding and innovative case studies in the field.
The program included field visits to sites like the Zhuneng Mine Ecological Park, giving participants a firsthand look at Jungar Banner’s pioneering achievements in ecological restoration and industrial transformation.
